Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and LineUs.

LineUs is a shared canvas application that lets paired users draw together and stay connected in a private, one-to-one space.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the App. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Account Registration

To use LineUs, you must sign in with a supported account:

• Google Sign-In, and/or
• Apple Sign-In (where available)

We do not offer guest or anonymous accounts. You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account except as intended by the App (for example, pairing with one partner).

4. Description of the Service

LineUs provides:

• A private shared drawing canvas between you and one paired user
• Real-time sync of drawings and related in-app interactions
• Optional saved drawings (Vault), where available
• Push notifications, if you enable them
• Premium features available through a paid subscription

The App is designed for one-to-one pairing. You may only be actively paired with one partner at a time under a single subscription model, as described in Section 6.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes when practical.

5. Pairing

• You connect with another user by exchanging pairing codes within the App.
• You are responsible for sharing pairing codes only with people you trust.
• You may disconnect from a partner at any time through the App.
• Disconnecting ends the active pairing but does not automatically delete your account or all stored content.
• We are not responsible for disputes between users or for content shared between paired users.

6. Subscriptions and Premium Access

6.1 Subscription model

Some features require LineUs Premium. Premium access is obtained through:

• A paid subscription purchased by you through Google Play or the Apple App Store, or
• A partner invite code shared by a subscriber who has an active subscription

One paid subscription is intended to cover the subscriber and one invited partner. The invited partner receives premium access linked to the subscriber’s active subscription and does not need a separate store subscription.

6.2 Free trial

We may offer a free trial for new subscribers. Trial length, pricing after the trial, and billing terms are shown in the App and in the store listing at the time of purchase. You can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged, according to the rules of Google Play or the Apple App Store.

6.3 Billing

• All payments are processed by Google or Apple, not directly by us.
• We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status in the App.
• Prices, taxes, and currency are determined by the store and your region.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date in your store account settings.

6.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their policies. We do not control store refund decisions.

6.5 Changes to pricing

We may change subscription prices or plans. Store rules apply to price changes for existing subscribers. Continued use after a change may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose
• Harass, threaten, defame, or harm another user
• Share illegal, obscene, hateful, or infringing content through drawings or messages
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the App or its servers
• Use bots, automation, or unauthorized tools to access the App
• Circumvent subscription or pairing restrictions (for example, sharing invite codes publicly to grant free premium access to unrelated users)
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use the App to send spam or unsolicited commercial content

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users or the service.

8. User Content

8.1 Your content

You retain ownership of the drawings and other content you create in the App (“User Content”).

8.2 License to us

By using the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your User Content only as necessary to operate the App — including syncing it with your paired partner and storing Vault items you choose to save.

We do not use your private drawings for public marketing without your separate consent.

8.3 Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content and for what you share with your paired partner. We do not routinely monitor private canvas content but may review content if required by law or to enforce these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, branding, logos, and features (excluding User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

“LineUs” and related marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including:

• Supabase (authentication and data storage)
• Google and Apple (sign-in and billing)
• Firebase (push notifications)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)

Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal data. By using the App, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that drawings will always sync instantly. Network conditions, device limitations, and third-party outages may affect performance.

LineUs is a creative communication tool, not a medical, legal, or emergency service. Do not use the App for emergency communications.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your User Content
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of another person’s rights

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by signing out and uninstalling it.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ends immediately
• Provisions that by nature should survive (including Sections 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16) will continue to apply

Canceling a subscription must be done through Google Play or Apple account settings. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel a subscription.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the courts of Budapest, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may notify you in the App or by other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any store-specific billing terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and LineUs regarding the App.
